Last week, we worked at Simpson and Veterans Park. The stone steps leading to the trail at the end of Lebanon Road were decimated by dirt bikes, so volunteers worked to restore them and make dirt bike entry more difficult. In addition to stone work, this involved relocating and securing a tree trunk. The trail to Veterans park was cleared, poison ivy was removed from other trails and invasives were monitored and removed. New trail signs routed by Andy Scott and painted by Patty Wey were erected.
Currently, the weather forecast indicates rain Wednesday morning, but if conditions change, we will proceed with the projects at Simpson and Veterans Park. The work of restoring the stone steps at Simpson is continuing, so tools for moving and hauling rock will be useful. Chainsaws will also be useful for removing downed trees and for establishing water bars on the trail leading to Veterans Park.
I will alert everyone by email at 8 AM if we need to cancel. Otherwise, we will meet at the end of Lebanon Road at 9 AM on Wednesday.
