The Bethany Land Trust (BLT) is a private, publically supported, 501(c)(3) charitable corporation dedicated to serving the Bethany region through the conservation of land in Bethany and neighboring municipalities.

Established in 1968, the Trust currently preserves approximately 638 acres of fee and easement lands (438 acres owned and 200 acres in easements) and manages other lands held by the town of Bethany. Conservation land managed by BLT will be preserved in perpetuity.

Trust fee lands are preserved in their natural state and, wherever possible, open to the public for hiking, horseback riding, cross country skiing, nature study and other passive recreational pursuits. In addition, BLT holds scenic, agricultural and trail conservation easements. The Trust is particularly interested in continuing to acquire and protect land that forms connecting habitat as well as land that enhances the Bethany trails system.
