Owned by the Town of Bethany, Veterans Memorial Park provides residents with hiking trails, a lodge, an open-air pavilion, basketball and tennis courts, a playground, an open area for athletic activities and a man-made lake for swimming. The lake and adjacent wetlands are home to an active beaver population.

An easy loop trail around the lake provides views of beaver lodges in the adjacent wetlands and along the banks of the lake.
Other moderate to difficult trails climb into the woodlands above the lake. One of these trails can be accessed from Lebanon Road.
