Last week more work got done on stone steps and a rope added alongside the steep trail leading to the summit at Three Sisters. At Welsh much of the trails as well as the one going through the field got cleared, although more to do there.
This week we are going back to Simpson and will install the bridge across the tributary to Hockanum Brook. Drills are needed to secure the decking and some stone work tools to shore up the stone on either side may be needed. One person with boots would be good but no waders are needed. In addition, as not everyone will be needed for that, the other projects are clearing the area there of poison ivy and invasives. Useful tools will be shovels and root pulling tools.We may also take a walk to explore the connection between the Ski Tow Trail and the Brookside Trail and the location of a possible bench.
We will meet at the Veterans Park entrance to Simpson, 9 AM Wednesday.
