Last week we worked at Woodward Preserve. One crew cleared the trail and the other erected a stone barrier across the woods road. Despite signs and warnings to stop, this route has been used continuously by individuals on quads to enter Woodward Preserve and onto Simpson Preserve creating enormous scouring and erosion of the trails.
Meanwhile, this week we will work at Hershmans Hollow (while we determine our next steps at Woodward). The trail needs clearing and the Japanese Knotweed infestation at the entrance is out of control. So both trail clearing and invasive removal tools will be useful.
We will meet at Hershman’s Hollow, located at 658 Litchfield Tpk, at 9 AM on Wednesday.
