Last week we worked at Simpson Preserve and on the trail leading to Veterans Park from the end of Lebanon Road. We cleared trees and raised stepping stones at the Simpson stream crossing. We added waterbars to the lower part of the trail leading to Veterans Park.
This week we plan to work on the Veterans Park trails in preparation for the hike on Monday. A fallen tree with many branches covers one trail and ferns and other plants are growing into the trails and need to be cut back. And a second chainsaw would be useful to resume installing water bars on the trail leading to Lebanon Road.
So useful tools will include weed whackers, loppers, leaf blowers and chainsaws.
We will meet at Veterans Park at 9 AM on Wednesday.
