Wednesday July 8th

Last week we worked at Hall Preserve, clearing the trail and the area around the chestnut trees and pulling invasives and poison ivy.  The two chestnut trees planted several years ago seem to be doing well, and there is quite a bit of regeneration of oak saplings.

This week we will work on higher ground, starting at Whispering Pines from the Village Lane entrance.  The woods road is overgrown and needs a trail cleared through it, and a large branch is down at the beginning of the trail.  The preserve trails also need weed whacking and we can resume invasive removal where we left off last fall.

Useful tools will include weed whackers, a chainsaw, and invasive removal equipment.

We will meet at the end of Village Lane at 9 AM on Wednesday July 8.
