Last week we worked at Rodell’s Roost for Robins and Delano Sanctuary, located behind the Congregational Church. It was very gratifying to see Mayapple and Zizia, both native plants, thriving in an area we had previously cleared of invasives. We made another dent in the invasives and poison ivy, and removed the numerous trees which had fallen across the trails.
This week we are headed back to 101 Russell. There are more wood chips to spread, and the Japanese Knotweed on the Sisyphus Trail requires clearing. Additionally, we need to square off the stone walls bordering the entrance.
Useful tools will include wheelbarrows, pitchforks, root slayers and weed whackers.
We will meet at 9 AM at 101 Russell.
