This 3.1-acre property was purchased by the Town of Bethany in 2025 using the town’s Open Space Acquisition Fund. It provides off-road parking for about 12 vehicles and a connecting trail through a wooded area, which hikers can use to access the Sisyphus Trail in the Hidden Brook Preserve.

To construct the parking area, the town demolished a deteriorated structure, removed accumulated debris, and eliminated invasive species. Using a design created by the Land Trust, the town completed the grading and applied millings to create the parking lot’s surface.

Trails:
A connecting trail (0.2 miles, easy) starting at the corner of the parking area courses through a wooded area, which hikers can use to access the Sisyphus Trail in the Hidden Brook Preserve. If you are looking for a place to park to access trails, including a 4.4-mile loop trail, through several open space parcels in that part of Bethany, the Hidden Brook Parking Area is great place to start.
