We are canceling for today and rescheduling for this Friday, 9 AM. Same two projects – steps at Three Sisters (1154 Amity Road) and trail clearing the Southern Loop Trail and meeting at 59 Farm View Road.
Last week we focused on the Three Sisters Preserve. Blazes were restored, the trails and colonial foundations were cleared and stone steps were restored in advance of the 250th Anniversary Bethany history hike in June
There are still more steps to restore, so the crew that was there last week will return Wednesday to work on them again.
For the rest of us, the plan is to clear the Southern Loop Trail, (through Bethany Farms, Whispering Pines and Carrington Preserve) which will be the site of the May 3 hike. For this, leaf blowers, loppers and rakes will be useful. There is also an illegal firepit at Carrington Preserve that needs to be dismantled.
Those working at Three Sisters will meet at 1154 Amity Road, and those working on the Southern Loop Trail will meet at 59 Farm View Road. All at 9 AM, Wednesday, weather permitting.
