The parking area at 101 Russell Road is complete; last week we added a connecting trail to the Hidden Brook Preserve loop. This allows off-street parking not only for Hidden Brook but also for the whole southern complex of preserves.
This week, we are going to work at Three Sisters Preserve. This will be the location for a Sunday morning history tour on the weekend of the 250th celebration in Bethany. We need to spray paint blazes, leafblow the trail, expose the stone foundations at the former grist mill site and leather tanning operation, and pick up any trash or impediments. We also need to restore the stone steps leading further up the trail. Useful tools will include loppers, leafblowers, rakes, and stone moving tools.
For this we will meet at Three Sisters Preserve, 1154 Amity Rd at 9 AM on Wednesday.
Chuck and Kevin are going to work to remove brush from the beaver flow device at Mendells. If anyone else would like to join them, feel free, water boots are helpful. They will meet at the Van Epps parking area, 390 Beacon Rd, at 9 AM.
