Last week we cleared the trail from the end of Split Rock Rd to Russell Road, and reinstalled the Preserve sign.
This week we need to prepare for the hike on Sunday covering Simpson Preserve and the Veterans Park Trails.
The image below shows the October 12th hike route for Simpson in orange heading first to the bridge and then up the Brookside Trail and the Veterans Park route in green. The red ovals on the Veterans Park map indicate areas where trails need to be cleared. We will need weed whackers, loppers, a chainsaw and leaf blowers.
We will meet at Veterans Park lower parking lot at 9. The question is, which day. Currently the weather forecast is for rain on Wednesday. If we are rained out we will meet on Friday. We will make the determination about whether to proceed Wednesday morning by 8 AM. Please let me know if you may be able to attend on Wednesday, and if we postpone to Friday I will text you to let you know.
